Certification season is starting again. Below are some of the early PY2027 Medicare certification dates agents may want to keep on their calendar.

This page is meant to be a simple reference. Carrier dates, requirements, portals, and certification rules can change — always monitor your email and check each carrier portal directly for the most current information.

Important Reminder If you complete a carrier-specific certification that does not require AHIP or NABIP, that certification may only allow you to sell that carrier's plans. For agents who sell across multiple carriers, AHIP or NABIP is often still required depending on each carrier's contract requirements.
AHIP & NABIP AHIP and NABIP PY2027 training is scheduled to launch on June 22.

Dates and requirements can change. Always verify directly with each carrier's portal or your upline before relying on any date listed here.

Certification Platform Notes

Depending on the carrier, PY2027 certification may be completed through one or more of the following platforms:

AHIP NABIP Pinpoint Miramar Evolve Carrier Portal Upline / FMO

A carrier-specific certification completed through one platform does not automatically satisfy the requirements for other carriers. Agents who sell multiple carriers should verify each company's individual requirements — including whether AHIP or NABIP is required in addition to any carrier-specific training — before assuming one certification covers all of them.

Agent Notes

A few practical reminders as certification season begins:

🗂️

Check carrier portals directly. Email announcements are helpful, but the carrier portal is the authoritative source for launch dates and requirements.

📋

Save certification records. Download and store completion certificates as soon as you finish each one.

Confirm what's required. Know whether each carrier requires AHIP, NABIP, or carrier-only certification — and whether they can be completed in either order.

📅

Track status before AEP. Keep a running record of what's complete, what's pending, and what dates are coming up. Don't leave it to memory.

📁

Keep documentation organized. Store certificates and confirmation emails somewhere you can find them quickly if a carrier or upline asks.

⏱️

Watch for blackout periods. Some carriers — like Humana this year — have blackout windows where certifications cannot be completed. Know the schedule in advance.

Why This Matters

AEP preparation starts well before AEP. Completing certifications early gives agents more time to review plan changes, prepare client communications, update workflows, and make sure they are ready to sell when the season begins.

Agents who wait until late summer often run into platform congestion, blackout periods, or carrier-specific deadlines they weren't tracking. Getting certifications done as soon as they open is one of the simplest ways to reduce stress heading into October.

If you are tracking certifications across multiple carriers alongside renewals, policies, commissions, and client follow-ups, that's a lot to keep organized — especially leading into AEP.

Dates, platform requirements, and carrier certification rules can change at any time and without notice. This page is a general reference only. Agents should always confirm requirements directly with the carrier portal, their upline, or official certification platform before acting on any information listed here. KundPro is not affiliated with any carrier, AHIP, NABIP, or certification platform referenced on this page.

PY2027 Certification FAQ

When does AHIP 2027 launch?

AHIP PY2027 training is scheduled to launch on June 22. Agents should still confirm directly through AHIP or their carrier portal before starting.

When does NABIP 2027 Medicare training launch?

NABIP PY2027 Medicare training is also scheduled to launch on June 22. Agents can access the NABIP Medicare portal directly for updates.

Does a carrier-specific certification replace AHIP or NABIP?

Not always. A carrier-specific certification may only allow an agent to sell that carrier's plans. Agents who sell multiple carriers should confirm whether AHIP, NABIP, or carrier-specific training is required for each company before assuming one certification satisfies all requirements.

What should Medicare agents track during certification season?

Agents should track carrier name, certification platform, date started, date completed, current status, expiration date, certificate records, and any follow-up items. The free Medicare Certification Tracker worksheet is designed to help with exactly this before AEP.
